It is often in the smallest acts of kindness that we give the most to those in need. A kind word; a hug; noticing when someone needs a kind word or a hug (there is an art in that too).

Thank you for your sweet story and for teaching your children about the importance of giving to others.

Wendy, Thank you for reminding me how blessed we are that we can do jumping jacks, and even more, that our children can. We take so much for granted, not even noticing that simple things can be great blessings.

Recently I went in to have a procedure done after I had lost my baby. My kids were devastated that they wouldn't be having a baby brother or sister yet. I let them know that eventually we would be able to have another baby. As I went in for the procedure some things went wrong and I ended up having a full hysterectomy and am no longer able to have children. I lost 3 liters of blood and nearly died. Luckily for me I am still here to raise my precious children. I can't get enough of their hugs. I tell them I love them so much ever minute I get a chance. You just never know when life on this earth will end. I am so grateful for my chance to still be here to raise my precious children. It is important that we always remember our Husbands and children and family. It is so important that they know you love them.

Wonderful News!! Anytime in this lifetime is a good time. My husband converted 8 years ago. He is the only member of his family to enter the gospel. Your husband must be elated. Thank you for sharing.

Comment on Conference! Time to Prepare by Sheldon

Sherri,
I just now read your comments about conference (the day AFTER conference), but agree wholeheartedly. I LOVE General Conference and find it is over all too soon. I love to prepare to listen and actually take the time to sit down and hear the counsel of our general authorities.
Just this morning I was lamenting that in about another month (when the new Ensign comes out), April's conference (from which I have loved to read the wonderful talks) will be "obslete". Then, the Spirit whispered "...though the heavens and earth pass away, my words shall not pass away." That's part of what makes General Conference so special-- More of the Lord's word every six months!

Right on!! I have always tried to remember the counsel from Elder Oaks when he spoke on that very subject. He counseled that music performed in sacred settings should not be done so with an attitude of making it a performance, rather it should be done so as to invite the spirit of He to whom the meeting is dedicated.
It is easy for those who have been blessed with musical talent (myself included) to think that when we "perform" in Sacrament Meeting that we are showcasing ourselves and our talent. Nothing could be further from the truth. We are merely an instrument to invite the Spirit. Perhaps the Julie de Azevedo song says it best, "I want to be a window to His love... 'til He becomes everything, and I become a window to His love."

Ever wonder why we sing hymns to begin church services and most religious meetings? One reason is that when doing so the participants say the same words, at the same time, in the same tone (literally) and even breath more or less in unison. Music bring unity.
